May 2026 DNP Clinical Immersion
The College of Nursing hosted its spring Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Clinical Immersion on May 18–20, bringing students from across DNP specialties to campus for three days of hands-on learning and skill development. Designed to strengthen specialty-specific clinical competencies and prepare students for clinical placements, the immersion featured faculty-led workshops, simulation-based training, and collaborative learning experiences tailored to each specialty. Throughout the three-day session, graduate students participated in activities including outpatient and specialty-focused Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), clinical simulations at the Arizona Simulation Technology and Education Center (ASTEC), procedural skills workshops, case-based discussions and specialty seminars. These immersive experiences gave students the opportunity to build clinical confidence, strengthen professional communication, and apply classroom knowledge in realistic care settings as they continue preparing for advanced practice nursing roles.
