CON Website Directory

The College of Nursing Directory has been engineered to minimize data replication and inconsistencies, streamline entry and management, and provide a clear, uniform method for promoting and finding our nursing scholars and support staff. As much as possible, the directory pulls from central UA systems on a semi-regular schedule. Data from UAccess is pulled daily. Data from Faculty Portfolio is pulled intermittently.

The directory is a work in progress and not all the data needed by CON is available in a centralized system. Therefore, some entries must be manually maintained. LHTI is here to assist with these cases. To see what and how your information is retrieved and updated, please see below.

All Employees

The CON website respects the preferred name of the employee. To submit a preferred name change:

  1. Navigate to UAccess Employee

Once submitted, this request will cascade through central IT systems and be reflected on the CON website within 1-2 business days. Other places you will notice the change will include D2L and the UA Phonebook.

Credentials/letters are maintained manually by LHTI (e.g. Jane Doe, PhD, RN or John Doe, MSN). To add or change credentials on your profile, submit a ticket to LHTI at CON-ServiceDesk@email.arizona.edu.

Impact Statement

The Impact Statement is a summation of the researcher's work and should be friendly, first-person, and in layman's terms to encourage external audiences--such as other scholars or potential PhD students--to click on the researcher's profile.

The impact statement should be under 45 words or around 320 characters and the first sentence should be a broad overview of what you are studying and the second sentence should be more specific. This same elevator pitch will be on all pages you are associated with, so if you select into all three excellence areas, make sure to make it generic enough it applies to all excellence areas.

Here is an example of Dr. Judith Gordon's statement:

I conduct research to help people engage in healthier lifestyle behaviors, primarily tobacco use cessation and prevention. Currently, I focus on reaching tobacco users in a variety of healthcare settings, and using integrative approaches and technology to reduce tobacco use.

The research Impact Statement appears in individual faculty profiles in the Research tab and also in the Areas of Excellence faculty listings.
