Natalie Mae Pool , PhD, RN

Clinical Assistant Professor, Nursing

I am a clinical assistant professor with more than a decade of clinical nursing experience, primarily working with rural and underserved populations in acute care and community-based settings. Within nursing education, I incorporate these diverse experiences into a strengths-based, student-focused pedagogy across online graduate/post-graduate and in-person undergraduate courses and mentorship. I primarily utilize qualitative research methods to explore phenomena such as patient-provider relationships and unconscious bias in healthcare practice and education. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams on several federal training grants supporting Native American, Hispanic, first-generation college, and other underrepresented students reflects my commitment to improving inclusivity and cultural safety across the health professions.
