Third International Integrative Nursing Symposium
We are pleased to announce the 3rd International Integrative Nursing Symposium, which will be held from May 22-24, 2019 in Galway, Ireland. The 2019 theme is “Leadership and Innovation in Nursing.”
As with earlier Symposia in Iceland and the United States, we look forward to convening nurses from around the world who are committed to whole person/ whole system care and healing.
Plenary speakers and topics include:
Dr. Brendan McCormack - Person-centered care
Dr. Michael Shannon - Leadership
Lori Knutson - Building integrative care models
Additionally, Janet Quinn will lead, “The Way of the Healer,” a pre-conference learning experience. There will also be a pre-conference workshop on integrative nursing research.
On the opening evening of the Symposium, we will feature several Irish nursing colleagues. Geraldine Murray will be presenting about the legacy of nursing leadership in Ireland, and Drs. Martin McNamara and Sean Teeling will be discussing integrative nursing in Ireland.
A complete program will be posted after the abstract review. Abstract submission is currently open, and all abstract proposals are due by Nov. 5, 2018. Presenters will be notified of the status of their submission by the end of 2018.
The Galway Bay Hotel will host this Symposium, and is an outstanding venue for our gathering. Located on the sea, you can get up in the morning and walk the promenade before breakfast or at sunset. The food is lovely and the meeting rooms and comfortable guest suites were recently upgraded. We hope you will stay in the Hotel during the Symposia so that you may completely immerse yourself in our Integrative Nursing community. Consider a side trip before or after the Symposium to explore the Great Atlantic Way or any number of other amazing destinations. While in Galway, you can access many tours – including a walking food or cultural tour! Galway is also home to many fine restaurants and cafes.
We encourage you to take advantage of early registration for the conference and please book your room at the Galway Bay Hotel as soon as possible. We expect our room block to fill quickly, and want you to be with us at the edge of the sea!
