RISE (Research Intensive Summer Experience)

RISE Poster Elements

Poster content is generally prepared as a series of PowerPoint slides which are then provided to Biomedical Communications for printing on their large format printer. Biomedical Communications applies a standard template with UA colors and/or graphics to your text.

Slide #1: Title with your name(s), degree(s)

The remaining slides incorporate the general categories of background, discussion of the actual or proposed study, and the conclusions and/or significance. The suggestions presented in the following table were gleaned from actual posters. Some posters use the actual headings presented in the table; others not. Also within each ‘heading’, some posters had subheadings.

Other elements can include:

  • diagrams, charts, tables, graphs, photographs—try to submit the originals (especially photographs, in digital format), along with your PowerPoint
  • acknowledgment of the funding organization(s)
  • very short list of references
