Clinical-academic participatory research is an approach to engage direct care nurses, ensure clinical relevance and infuse practice knowledge into the research process. In this presentation strategies for successful clinical-academic research partnerships will be described. A case study of DNP-PhD partnership for a neonatal study to improve early recognition for necrotizing enterocolitis will be presented as context for how a participatory approach is important to engage clinical support. Strategic vision, logistical considerations, lessons learned and opportunities for future collaborations between Banner Health and the University of Arizona College of Nursing will be discussed.

The seminar will be a live video stream at http://www.nursing.arizona.edu/scripts/ShowNursingVideoAllv1.asp?qtype=date

During the seminar, questions can be sent to questions@uanursing.arizona.edu
