Scholarship Opportunities

OPPORTUNITIES
Exceptional opportunities for scholarships and other financial awards are available to students in declared major in the College of Nursing. Applications for the college's awards are available online for students admitted to a nursing program (Pre-Professional Nursing, BSN, MEPN, DNP or PhD). Applications are collected on an annual basis and awarded for the academic year (fall, spring, summer).

NURSING SCHOLARSHIPS

The College of Nursing, through the support of many generous donors, are able to offer a variety of Nursing Scholarship Opportunities. Students file one general scholarship application to be considered for all possible donor awards.

The application for scholarships (fall 2013 - summer 2014) will be available April 8, 2013 and will close on May 17, 2013. Decisions will be made between May 17 and June 28 and recipients will receive notification via the email address indicated on their application.

In order to be eligible, all students who apply for College of Nursing Awards are required to complete the following items:

Be a declared Nursing major (Pre-professional, BSN, MEPN, DNP, PhD)
File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA): http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/
Students are not required to accept any loans, grants or types of Federal Aid. International students are not required to complete this step.
Register through Scholarship Universe: scholarshipuniverse.arizona.edu
Scholarship Universe is a clearinghouse of scholarships at UA as well as external sources.

File the College of Nursing Scholarship Annual Awards Application
The application must be filled out completely at the time of application. Progress on the application cannot be saved. Applications stay closed after the deadline until the next annual cycle. A copy of the application can be viewed at: Application Preview. Students may only submit the application one time and you may not log back in for edits. Please review the application copy and draft all responses prior to final submission.

SPRING ADMITTED BSN STUDENTS AND MEPN STUDENTS
Spring and summer admitted students will receive a separate notification about applying for scholarships for their cohorts. This will be a separate application from the main annual application.

Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP): http://wiche.edu/wrgp

Provides in-state tuition for students of affiliated western states. This program applies to only DNP and PhD programs. MEPN eligibility was discontinued in 2013.
Students from WRGP eligible states are automatically enrolled in the program based on residency – no application required.
No applications are required.

Grants and Loan Programs (GAANN, NFLP, AENT)
- Individual applications for these programs will be sent out if the institution continues to receive funding.
