The 1st Degree BSN Traditional Pathway -How to Apply

1st Degree BSN Traditional Pathway Admission Requirements*

Nursing prerequisites completed with a grade of C or better.

A minimum 3.0 nursing prerequisite grade point average.

A minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average for all college and university course work.

A personal statement describing, in 250 words or less, what you, as a student, will bring to our college community. 

Basic computer knowledge.

Top candidates will be invited to interview.

Admission to the 1st degree BSN Traditional pathway is highly competitive and the above requirements are the minimum required to apply.  The College of Nursing is committed to creating an academically challenging and supportive educational community of students with diverse talents, experiences, viewpoints, and cultural backgrounds.  The College is particularly interested in students who are highly motivated and demonstrate a distinguished level of scholarship, integrity, leadership and service to others.  The College seeks students who are prepared to benefit from and contribute to a rigorous and diverse learning environment and contribute to a dynamic and culturally competent healthcare work force.


Application Checklist

Be admitted to the University of Arizona as a degree-seeking student, pre-nursing major. UA admission information, such as deadlines, applications, and detailed instructions, is available online or by calling the Office of Admissions and New Student Enrollment at 520-621-3237. Submit official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.

Attend an information session at the College of Nursing. At the one-hour session, an advisor will cover the pre-nursing and nursing curriculum and the application process and will answer any questions you might have.

Apply for admission to the College of Nursing BSN program through the online application form.

 

Submit another set of official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended to:

Submit a copy of current CNA certificate or LPN license, if applicable, to the College of Nursing Office of Student Affairs.

 

Application Deadlines for 1st Degree BSN Traditional Pathway

 

February 1 for admission the following Fall semester. All prerequisite courses must be complete by June 1.  No more than two prerequisites courses without posted grades at the time of application.  (Required chemistry lab not included among two courses in progress.)

September 1 for admission the following spring semester. All prerequisite courses must be complete by September 1.
