The 2nd Degree BSN Accelerated Pathway - How to Apply

 

2nd Degree BSN Accelerated Pathway Admission Requirements *

Nursing prerequisites completed with a grade of C or better.

A minimum 3.0 nursing prerequisite grade point average.

A completed baccalaureate degree.

Basic computer knowledge.

U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

A personal statement describing, in 250 words or less, what you, as a student, will bring to our college community.  

A statement describing, in 250 words or less, your preparation for the Accelerated Pathway.

Top candidates will be invited to interview.

*Please note updated grade point average requirement. 

Admission to the 2nd degree BSN Accelerated Pathway is highly competitive and the above requirements are the minimum required to apply.  The College of Nursing is committed to creating an academically challenging and supportive educational community of students with diverse talents, experiences, viewpoints, and cultural backgrounds.  The College is particularly interested in students who are highly motivated and demonstrate a distinguished level of scholarship, integrity, leadership and service to others.  The College seeks students who are prepared to benefit from and contribute to a rigorous and diverse learning environment and contribute to a dynamic and culturally competent healthcare work force.

 

Application Checklist

Be admitted to the University of Arizona as a degree-seeking undergraduate student, pre-nursing major. UA admission information, such as deadlines, applications, and detailed instructions, is available online or by calling the Office of Admissions and New Student Enrollment at 520-621-3237.  Submit official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.

Apply for admission to the College of Nursing BSN program through the online application form.

Submit another set of official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended to:

Submit a copy of current CNA certificate or LPN license, if applicable, to the College of Nursing Office of Student Affairs.

Application Deadline for 2nd Degree BSN Accelerated Pathway


January 15 for admission to 1st Summer Session. All prerequisites must be complete by January 15.  Notification of the admission decision is mailed in March.

 

Additional Admission Requirements

If invited, you are required to attend an interview as part of the admission process.  Interviews take place in February. 

If offered admission as a sponsored student, you will sign a contract to work as an RN for a minimum of three years with one of our healthcare agency partners.
